Sorry if this was already a subject, I did not see one.

I picked up a few Lambskin and gorgeous Tweed pieces recently. I'm starting to regret my purchases because of interactions with consignment shops. They acted like they didn't want to touch any of my lambskin bags in general, like they're giant boogers. All of them have been warm and very affectionate about handling my caviar classics.

My worries lie with the retained value of Lambskin. Tweed is a delicate beast but my disappointment in Lambskin is beginning to grow.

Hi OP. Are you trying to sell your lambskin pieces because you no longer like them or you got them with the intention to sell, but they are not selling well?

I love dark colored lambskin. However, I do know that for a lot of people caviar is more desirable because many people do believe that caviar is easier to care for (which I don’t necessarily agree with). I have many dark colored lambskin pieces and have no issues with them whatsoever.

I think there's an impression amongst people (correct or not) that the quality of the lambskin has decreased lately, so maybe that is what is causing this reaction from the people you're dealing with? But I agree with 880 -- unless you're buying them purely with the intention to resell, buy what you like and don't sweat their opinions!

I didn't realize caviar is easier to resell. But after you mentioned it, I suppose it makes sense.

But lambskin is SO divine. It's just so elegant and lovely to the touch, whenever I carry mine, I cannot help but touch my bag. I only have 2 caviar pieces, the rest are all lambskin. For the same price tag, I would go for lambskin regardless of resell value.

I think lambskin and caviar are unfairly compared perhaps. They are different and both have their pros and cons. I can see why a consignment shop might find it easier to sell caviar though.
This makes me think of this poor lambskin heart bag I stumbled upon on Fashionphile:
