Hello Dior members! I was wondering if anyone has the lady Dior phone pouch and if it is worth getting.

I am after a quick bag, can be used casual and formal which carry’s my phone, card holder and some small lippie or hand sanitizer. Plus mask of course. I think the size is perfect but not sure how it will hold up. Is lamb leather high maintenance? Does it get easier scratched. I was going to get the LV felicie but this one looks more luxurious and premium. And the pearl on the chain is so dainty and chic as well. Anyone that has it and can provide feedback would be great. Thanks!

I do not have this bag, but if you're thinking of "worth it" in resale value, no. Dior bags depreciate in value terribly. If you're thinking about buying it new, I'd wait for it to go on the pre-loved market. I can see Dior phasing this out quickly.

If you're thinking about "worth it", in cost per wear, per your description, that sounds pretty realistic.

I have read on TPF that the Dior Caro bag's leather does appear to be quite delicate and thin, with some people's bags easily tearing or splitting.
I don't know if this bag is made in the same way as the Dior Caro but it is something to consider.

Just my initial thoughts though. Hopefully someone who owns this bag can speak through experience.

Thanks for your comments. It was very helpful and useful. All great points I didn’t consider.

Hey @Bumbles, not sure if you've made your mind up about this but in case you haven't, here are my two cents.

I bought this bag very recently. I didn't buy it for its resale value, though dior does fare relatively poorly on that front (at least once a line is decommissioned). I got it because it's a gorgeous bag, one that I plan on using for many years to come. It has just enough space for the bare essentials you said you would carry in it. It also has the gorgeous chain that I felt gave it the edge over the lady dior pouch. I can't advise you on wear and tear as I've not had mine for long. However I have had experience with lambskin in the past from other brands and I noticed my pouch feels considerably less smooth than the lambskin I'm used to (still smooth, but not silky-smooth). I've heard on these forums that dior's lambskin is more scratch-resistant than that of other brands like Chanel, so perhaps this is the reason why. What I also liked about this bag is that it's not as well-known as the Lady Dior pouches which have been around for longer. This can be a pro or a con, depending on whether you want something that's a bit different or a more recognisable bag.

I understand that the bag is being phased out (replaced by the top-handle versions that are £500 more expensive), so if you do decide to get it, I would do so quickly. Hope all this helps!

Thanks bag for your feedback. That’s very useful. I haven’t made up my mind yet so it’s good to know all these points. What colour did you get and do you mind sharing some photos of it. I like the white and black colour especially with the flat pearls and the matte black chain. Makes it look very classy and chic. I’ve also been tossing up with the micro Dior vanity as well. I know they’re completely different bags but the micro vanity is so cute too! So many gorgeous bags Dior has. Hard to make a decision.

I didn't get either of the colours you like I'm afraid, I got the pink that's just been discontinued. The micro vanity looks cute as well, but for me the pouch is my preferred choice just because I'd want to be able to store my phone in it. I think the best thing to do is to try them on if you can or look at unboxing videos. I'm really sorry I can't be of more help, but whatever option you choose, you're getting a gorgeous bag, so I don't really think you can go wrong! I am planning on going to the store soon, so if I see them there I'll take some pics for you

I don’t own one but I think it’s lovely - and it‘s black with understated hard ware so imo it won’t date quickly. I’ve got a bag in Dior lambskin and don’t baby it -my only advice is to keep the chain wrapped and not laying on the bag when not in use as the leather will ‘indent” or crease if it rests on anything in storage.
