Hi Ladies,
I am considering buying a pre-loved Lady Dior in large, they don't offer returns. I love the look of the bag but just can't decide if I will think it's too big. The medium I believe will definitely be too small for me. I want it as a work bag and at the moment find my LV Brea MM or LV Alma PM perfect, both bags seem somewhere between the LD large and medium.

I'm 5' 4" and worried the large will look too boxy because it is quite deep. I have a Chanel GST and the size seems very similar and although I love how much it holds I just don't like the look of if worn over the shoulder on me.

I did try both sizes on in store quite a while back and don't remember it looking to big. Help.............does the large have a boxy look? Any views would be very much appreciated

Have you considered the Diorissimo? Sounds like the perfect bag for you. It holds way more than the medium Lady Dior and doesn't look as "boxy" as the large Lady Dior.

Plus the leather is very thick and durable, so you won't have to baby it.

Hey! I think it depends on whether you take a laptop to work? I need to, so I always need large enough bags to fit one in. If so, then I think the large is the only option. I found a great vid on youtube that may help you decide better; it compares the two sizes, and the reviewer is 5'3.5" (so about your height), and you can see the bags on her as well (starting around the 4:40 mark in the video). I do think the medium size (provided you don't need to take files or a laptop, etc) is something that can be versatile for both work and outings, much more so than the large. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the idea but I think what I love about the Lady Dior is the cannage leather, I've had my heart set on one for awhile. I've just been waiting for the right one to come up and know it has it seems so long ago since I tried it on I can't be sure about the size! The Diorissimo is lovely but doesn't have the same wow factor for me.

I vote Medium Lady Dior
Thanks but the medium will definitely be too small for me. It seems about the same size as a Chanel medium flap but difficult to get into. It would only work for me as an evening bag, I just carry too much in the day

Thank you, I found the review very helpful, it was good to see them side by side.............but I'm still sitting on the fence. I so wish they did one in between the two sizes the medium seems more like small. I'm still worried the large is too big for an easy to carry day bag. Sometimes if I'm walking further I need to use cross body and that looks a no no.

I'm also thinking since seeing the video the large spent have the same boxiness as the Chanel GST as it's on a longer strap and shirt handles. The GST looks really boxy on the shoulder as it tucks under your arm and looks really bulky.

maybe you can list down what you need during the day? the medium is surprisingly roomy if you use a smaller wallet.
before i bought my medium LD i worried about the zipper closure. honestly since i bought it it does not bother me the least. you somehow get used to using it.

if you have a GST and Brea and Alma PM, you don't need another larger bag for work isn't it?

btw i do find the large boxy. the LD looks best in medium imho, though i'm intrigued by the new small size with flap closure. [emoji16]

Thanks for your help, I don't use the GST, and usually switch between, Brea, Alma PM and Speedy 25 for work depending if I'm walking in. I consider I'm traveling light and always carry a couple of pouches, my wallet is large(I don't get on with a smaller) credit card slip, mobile and a fold up tote. I can just about get these into a Speedy 25

If I drive I'd take a bigger bag, then I can get in a lunch box, small water and also any paperwork if necessary.

I will try and add pictures later of what I consider essentials!

speedy 25 would definitely be roomier, and i wouldn't use a long wallet with a medium, too much of a hassle to take it out(but speedy 25's zipper opening is not exactly easy to retrieve things as well)..

don't have a large LD so i can't help much. best to try in store with your stuff then decide[emoji4]

Another option might be the UltraDior. It has a modified Cannage pattern (but flat) and comes in some interesting colors besides black. It has a zip top closure but it's very easy to get access to everything in your bag. The larger size is 33 cm, so would hold a smaller laptop; the smaller size is more suited to a tablet. I find mine very easy to wear. The two chain and leather handles don't have quite as long a drop as the straps on the Lady or Diorissimo (a bag I also love, esp in the deep blue with python sides, but that version comes with a $10,000 price tag) and it's easy to wear on the shoulder, even with a coat.

Just another option to consider!

What about the Dior Soft? The two styles I have included below exude the style of the Lady Dior, but in practical sizes and chain handles that can go over the shoulders.

Both bags were recently discontinued but some boutiques may still carry them.Dior Soft black m0959ocal_m900_v3_z_1.jpg Dior Soft black m0959ocal_m900_v2_z_1.jpg Dior Soft M0962PCAL_M900_V0_Z.jpg Dior Soft M0962PCAL_M900_V2_Z.jpg

Thanks for all your ideas Ladies, keep them coming. :p I've always loved the look of the Lady Dior and think I have my heart set there but the bag I've seen won't be returnable so I've decided to be sensible and wait till I get a chance to try in store again. Trouble is my nearest store is in London, which is a long way and I'm going to have a long wait  I've all too often bought a bag I love in the picture but it doesn't look as expected when worn. :confused1:

The Soft tote looks lovely but reminds me of the GST too much. I think the straps make it look more casual whereas the large Dior more business or formal, although obviously you could wear for any occasion. I also have other totes similar to that style which I love and wear more at the weekend but it was a great idea.

I've never seen the Ultra Dior but the straps seem similar. I think I'd probably like both if I was after a more comfy look.

I'm also off to the Dior outlet on Friday so maybe something different will catch my eye. I doubt they will have any LDs but it may give me some ideas

I really love the look of the medium but I still think I will find it too small. The large will suit my needs best but I'm still concerned what it will look like on. I guess I should wait and try them both on again!

I thought LV speedy would probably be roomier, I've been trying to work out cubic capacity compared to my smaller bags  totally nuts! It seems the medium Chanel is the closest in size and for me that's definitely an evening bag. I also struggle with smaller purses and end up cramming too much in. My Speedy isn't in the canvas but monogram empreinte leather so the zip opening goes half way down each side, making access really easy.

cubic capacity?[emoji23]
medium chanel flap is definitely smaller, i think medium LD is more comparable to the jumbo, but with a smaller zip closure. or an empreinte speedy 20 (i have both the jumbo and speedy 20) so i roughly know what fits.

the thing is, i rarely fill speedy 20, jumbo and lady dior to the brim, as i don't want them to be too heavy or stretched out..

i think you might be too short for lange...imho shorter girls look better in the medium.
you probably would want the large for all this stuff though. they say if you overfill the bag it can deform at the bottom so idk about how much weight a lunchbox would add.
