Hey Ladies,

Its that time of the year again, where i have to get that special lady of mine something well umm... special. My idea is a Tiffany's Necklace (unoriginal i know, but your awesome cologne you get us is sooooo thoughtful...jk). But yeah a tiffanys Silver Necklace with the Ella Peretti "A" symbol, a Medium Silver Open Heart, and 3 Mini Open Heart Gemstones in Black, Pink, and White.

But I need your opinion...
1. The 3 mini hearts, they seem small to me, but im a dude and really dont know, the Salesperson said that she loved the 3 mini heart idea. Your thoughts?
2. Any better ideas for color combinations? (i choosecolors that represented her characteristics, black= mysterious, pink= romance and it has an innocent girly vibe to it, and white well because its the only thing that matched in my opinion.)
3. Is it enough to make her friends jealous? (because thats where it really counts aint it ladies...)

so basically im hoping for a gasp and sigh moment, and worst case scenario is she has to like 1 right?

Any better ideas like a necklace and a bracelet or other combinations?

best regards and thanks for any advice

Well, it's hard to go wrong with anything from Tiffany's, but the best gift would be one that considers her personality. So that being said, it sounds like the 3 mini hearts accomplishes that from what you said (mysterious, romantic, and girly innocence). Plus it's a little more different than the initial or the silver open heart (although personally I'm a silver open heart type of girl).

If the jewelry isn't enough to make her gasp and sigh, then the fact that you're putting this much thought into it should. :woohoo: As far as making her friends jealous, well that kinda depends on the friends.

Well what type of jewelry does she wear? Does she specifically like Tiffany jewelry? You're right, the mini hearts are small, but if that is the size/scale of jewelry she typically wears I'm sure she would like them. I think the black/pink/white color combo sounds pretty, especially if she wears a lot of pink. If she's into larger stuff or things that are more "bling" you might be better off going somewhere else.

As for making the friends jealous, who knows and really it doesn't matter as long as your girlfriend loves her gift.

The idea of the mini hearts and why you picked the colors is adorable, but to be perfectly honest they remind me of froot loops/don't look nearly as costly as they are.

those 3 colorful mini hearts is cute, but it depends on your GF. Is she the type who loves cutesy mini little things or the bling-bling type...?? Browse into the tiffany's website, there's plenty of choice.. you'll find something for her... ( I personally love a little blings, saw a heart shape pendant with 'a dot' of diamond... ohhh cant remember the name... prob by elsa perreti). Btw, you are such a sweet BF for searching something for your GF. Good luck for your purchase and dont forget to update us with your final decision!!

The mini hearts look pretty, but I would prefer to wear the silver open heart. I think the mini hearts are newer & the open heart has been around for a while. I'm sure she will adore whatever you get for her.

hey-aren't you a nice guy!!! :-)

Is she petite? If she's a petite gal, then you should be looking at delicate pieces. If she is a larger build, then you should be looking at chunkier pieces. Delicate pieces get lost on a larger frame and can look out of scale. If she's average, she can probably wear both, but a really thin delicate necklace might look a bit weird.

The piece you selected is pretty, and your idea is really thoughtful about the meaning...but...

If you are going to spend that kind of dough, I'd go for the diamonds (this piece is 450) and get a separate silver chain:

another version comes with pink sapphires and a chain together for 425

but diamonds add that extra oomph, don't they?

hmmm i hope i'm not going to incur a ton of flak for this remark . . . i'd like to add a brief caveat that i'm trying to address point 3 and your summary statement when i say this . . .

i think if you're hoping for the "gasp and sigh" moment it may be worthwhile to consider trying something different. Personally, I know my 3 closest girlfriends and I all have multiple Elsa Peretti Tiffany's necklaces . . . it's pretty much the de rigeur first "real" gift amongst guys, it seems . . . one acquaintance has 5 of them. 5!!! 2 beans, 2 hearts and an apple . . . i didn't even know they *made* apples :p

of course, it totally depends on her age, your age and the stage of your relationship . . . .

why not consider an hermes enamel bracelet? i think many of the ladies here on tpf would agree that the orange boxes can be just as exciting as blue ones! i always found H bracelets so sophisticated! I just bought this one, and I love it! I wear it all the time  it comes in TONS of other colours too
