My kitty, Shelby, is on a renal diet due to being newly diagnosed with CRF. Fortunately she really likes the new food so she's not losing any more weight (she had dropped from 7 lbs to 6 lbs). But she misses the treats we used to give her. Does anyone know of kidney friendly cat treats?

Sorry to hear about Shelby's diagnosis but it is a good sign that she is eating the new food. I don't know of any specific treats that are good for CRF cats, but anything low in phosphorus would be best. There's an excellent website that has a lot of good information on managing CRF http://felinecrf.org. It really helped me when I was going through this with my cat.

Thanks! I'll check that site out.

Sorry to hear about your kitty. Glad she likes the food, it took our cat a while, and having two cats, it was easier to feed it to both of them then try to keep one from eating the regular food.
Love to hear what you find...one of my cats was born with a kidney defect but since we caught it so early, she is now 9 and overall doing well! We do give her soft food... no fish flavors which is supposed to work the kidneys harder. This has helped her maintain her weight.
