Some say there's safety in numbers if you leave your infant at a daycare center (less likely that a stressed-out caregiver would do anything rash with others present)....however, if you can find a nanny with AWESOME references and a great work record, that's the ideal situation, IMO. Ideally, an infant would receive one-on-one attention and stimulation. In a daycare setting, you just don't get that. I would spend all day at work wondering whether my baby cried for 5 seconds or 5 minutes before getting her diaper changed. A loving, gentle, sweet nanny has raised both of my children. I'll be REALLY sad to see her go when my daughter turns 3 and heads to preschool, she has become a part of our family and she loves my kids almost as much as I do.
