I’m curious to hear what people think/know are the rarest Kellys and/or Birkins around. For example, from rarest to most common (or your chances of being offered one), my guess is:

SO Exotics
Blanc Himalaya (Gris Cendre rarer?)
Seasonal/Limited Edition Exotics
Push orders
Barenia/Box/Rare leathers
Seasonal/Runway/Limited Edition bags
Porosus Crocodile (Matte rarer than Shiny?)
Niloticus Crocodile (Matte rarer than Shiny?)
Alligator (Matte rarer than Shiny? Matte rarer than crocodile?)
New leathers
Current leathers

Sizes B
25, 40
30
35

Sizes K
20
25
35
28, 32

Colors
Seasonal
Permanent or Reissues

And last but not least, my guess is more Birkins than Kellys are produced every year?

What’s on your list?
Also, do you think being offered a certain bag in the hierarchy raises your chances of getting an even rarer bag the next time around?

I didn’t ask because of that. I asked so one could have a more realistic idea of what’s attainable when based on what you have bought or have been offered.
I love gold and black as well in many skins and combinations and know it’s a very popular option, but no idea how attainable it is among the colors.
Not everyone has the luxury to ask their SA for whatever they want and sit and wait for it. A lot of people are at the mercy of what they will give you, so why not get a more realistic idea of what’s attainable or not based on what you already have?
Someday I would love to buy a B25 in Beton, but no idea how rare they are.

There are no definitive answers to this question. Just ask for what you like. Fashion changes, our needs too but ultimately we only like what we like and suits our body type.

Time
25s are popular now and there's more around to satisfy demand. 10 years ago it was all about the 35s but it harder to get a 25. Who knows in 10 years?

Location
Depends on your location of the store and the person's history and what the store has ordered

I guess people are misinterpreting what I wrote because I wrote the word ‘rare’ here. I would never pick a bag based on how rare it is. I only buy what I love. The reason I wanted to get an idea of how rare certain things are was to get an idea about how attainable they are. If there’s a bag I want, but I see it’s in everyone’s top of the list, I’ll know how realistic to be about being offered one.
I thought it would be interesting to see what people thought the hardest to get to the most available are (for example, I’ve heard and been told myself that Etoupe is a color they carry all the time). I guess I should have used the word ‘available’, not ‘rare’.

Ah OK. So my answer to the question would be - the hardest thing to get in H is exactly what one really, really wants. I consider myself very lucky but then I'm very very patient.

Exactly , and I agree regarding patience and luck! It might seem one is after a basic combo of something, but perhaps they only made three that season , and they were :broom: sent to boutiques half way around the world!

I really believe in small, regular purchases of things you like across the board will yield what you are looking for and sharing your desires with your SA. These people are not mind readers and can't assume you are looking for anything in particular.

With this formula I have been offered and purchased a runway HAC 40 and had a 'new season leather' B40 ordered for me/allocated at PO.

Whether these are hard to come by or easier as less people may be interested is up to others to judge. Ultimately they were pieces I wanted and expressed interest in acquiring and my SA worked on my behalf to make my desires happen. Dreams can come true, but you need to set the parameters to make them so!
