Kelly Belt without wishlist

What my goodness! I don't think you need a wish for a Kelly belt and no one should be laughed at for asking for it. My SA did say they were a bit short of stick and he just got a few recently. Maybe try online or smaller stores around your country?

I bought mine before I've put my wishlist down. It took a while before it arrived. But it wasn't a probleem. I've seen a couple of Kelly Belts online. No need for a wishlist I think 
They always have Kelly belt readily available since it's one size fit all, no need for a wish list. You can even order one online if you don't want to deal with a SA. But I do recommend you to try it on in person to make sure the buckle works properly. I've tried on a few where the buckle felt extra tight and weird to close, so I ended up not getting one.
I think in the more recent past, there was a bit of a delay getting Kelly belts - especially if you were looking for one of the more popular combinations. My boutique was expecting a few belts which were delayed and there was a bit of a backlog of clients. I had to wait for a month, not too long but a wait nonetheless, where previously they were easily available. And there were several other cients who were waiting longer.

Kelly belts are in really short supply at the moment. I have been waiting a while and one only just came through but in the wrong spec. I think it depends on how your home store defines ‘wishlist’ as I frequently use the term with my SA for items I want that are not currently in stock. I ask them to ‘wishlist’ for me and they put my name down so that the next one that comes in goes to me. It’s not the same as the bag ‘wishlist’
I think this was previously the case but I live between two countries and both my stores have said the same thing that Kelly belts are in short supply As of late. I remember when they were just available to buy but this isn’t currently the case (at least in certain countries)
Well OP said she asked for it in Paris, I've never seen a shortage of Kelly belt in Paris at any given time even during pandemic. I could be wrong though since I haven't been there recently, will be heading there in 2 weeks and can report back.
Perhaps the particular stores are not getting in the specific combo some folks are asking for, and are not willing to charge send? In my experience in the US, this year and as recently as a month ago, I've had no issues walking in and grabbing the combination I asked about, or getting it charge sent from another store in the event the combo is not available at present in my store. Currently there are 12 combinations online as well. I've even recently asked about gator versions which have also been reasonably available, but unfortunately not in the hardware I'm looking for, so the wait continues for those specific versions. Even in Paris a few months back I was offered a handful of combinations to decide on.
If you want a Kelly belt of a particular color, just go to the local Hermes boutique and see if they have stock. If not, tell the SA that you would like to be informed once they restock. My SA informs me when they restock.Hi
I’m looking into buying the Kelly belt as my first purchase at Hermès. Was wondering if it’s possible to buy one without having a wishlist in store? When I asked for it in Paris they pretty much laughed at me for even asking that question
When I asked for it in Paris, they didn't have any available at all. I ended up working with an SA in a different department and she ordered one for me that arrived a couple weeks later right before I was flying home from Paris.
