Hello, my lovely ladies. So I and DH are starting a family! Very excited about this.
With that being said I see an extremely stylist mom today in the city trotting her newborn with her Kelly 35 Retourne
as a diaper bag. Now I never thought of getting any large Kellys or Birkins,
but the fact she was just so easily popping in and out of her kelly to get things for Little baby was so chic
and functional.
Now I currently have my B30 that actually hasn't got a ton of use since I carry
like 4 items in my bag all the time so a B25 is next on my wish list. But I know kids require a lot of
items so a large bag is necessary so this is going to be put off for a bit.

I am just wondering have any of you ladies ever used the Kelly 35R as a mommy bag or have you considered the lindy 34 maybe?
I love the look of both bags and the added ease of a strap. DH is getting a LV Christopher backpack for himself to use with the baby and I plan to use it as well.
But on days I want a more ladylike bag I am considering the Kelly or Lindy. What are your taught ladies?

Congratulations!

I have both 34 lindy and 35 kelly and 2 kids so I can give you my perspective. Both the lindy and kelly was not roomy enough for me to use as a diaper bag. When my kids are little, my diaper bag always has at least 6 diapers plus a full set of change of clothes, an extra sweater in the summer time when we go to restaurants where it can get chilly, a blanket, snacks/baby food, milk, toys, diaper wipes, changing pad...and the list goes on. Also everything needs to be readily accessible so the kelly and lindy may be harder to get things in and out. The bag should also be light as you also have to carry the baby. I found the garden party to be more practical as a diaper bag, but even with the garden party, I would only use it for running errands with the baby in the neighborhood where I don’t need to carry so much and I can always run home if the baby has an accident and needs to be changed or baby needs to be fed. I also used my Evelyn bag most of the time when I’m with the kids and only used my B and K at work. My favorite diaper bag ended up being a nylon Kate Spade diaper bag that I was able to toss in the wash as I’ve had many occasions where the baby snacks or food spilled inside the bag.

Thank you so much for your perspective, I was totally considering all of the extra items. I was thinking a lot of things could live in the car but your right. Sometimes getting to the car might not be so easy when outside. I will check out the kate spade bag. I do want something big enough to carry things but not super huge. I was thinking a bag organizer would help but may I under estimate how many items a baby needs haha

I did not carry much when my children were babies: just diapers, wipes, Hand sanitizer, disposable bags for soiled items, onesie, and once they’re older, a snack and drink. I didn’t carry toys or bottles with me. My babies were entertained by watching what I was doing and the people around them, and I nursed them so no formula to worry about. I think a Kelly 35 retourne could work, especially for just one baby, but I think your own belongings would fall to the bottom of the bag. You may still need to bring a separate mini bag for yourself.

I don't carry anything for myself, haha just lip gloss, sanitizer, keys, and a card holder. I am thinking about nursing so this might work!
