Hello! I’ve bought this purse impulsively because I only start my bags collection (and luxury items as well). Didn’t really know what worse the money and what is a good investment. I thought the thing this purse is vintage and super rare makes it be a good purchase (I mean financially). So when I tried to figure out how popular sites of preloved luxury items would estimate this bag - all of them declined my item with different reasons like we temporarily don’t work with this actual bags and other stuff.
My question is: do I have to keep it because probably in future this bag will become a collectors item or it’s better to sell this bag out for buying something more trendy and money worth? Thank you!!

Several things:
First, you didn't buy this bag: you've only posted photos of a known authentic bag from 1st Dibs, not pics of the one you personally bought at a vintage shop. If you have any intention to sell, you must get it authenticated. (Comments you've received on TPF were about the 1st dibs bag, not yours.)

Second, "investment" means a reasonable expectation of gaining value in the future. That's not what used handbags are good for. And judging the market for preowned bags takes expertise and risk, but at least expertise. Which you don't have.

Third, you aren't a great prospect as a seller, not knowing the luxury market, or Gucci, or selling. Few buyers are going to trust you.

Fourth, you said you bought it because you love it. Was that not true? If it is, that's good enough to keep and enjoy.

Advice for going forward: Buy what you like and will use.

Third, you're not knowledgeable about the luxury market, or Gucci, or selling. Who would want to buy from this sort of seller? Nobody.

Buy what you like and will use.
I bought THIS particular bag from this particular store) I didn’t post my own pics because I don’t sell this purse right now so I’m not obligated to show real life pictures from my own apartments with a sign. And the thing that Im not professional in luxury market - it’s not a shame I guess. And I don’t feel ashamed about that. That’s why I came here and asked. I hope not all the people there are huge snobs. Thanks for your answer tho and have a good one

You didn't state you bought this particular bag, you just linked to the site with the photos and mentioned a vintage shop.
And you're missing the point of my feedback: Sure you can be a brand-new seller not versed in Gucci/luxury bags, but it makes you a poor risk to a buyer. That's fact, not shaming and not snobbery.

About whether this bag has a future as a collectible, who knows.

Good luck in your decision.

That’s weird I added about 6 or 7 pictures and no one link here. Maybe it’s something wrong because I’m using a phone for this forum now. What I wanted to ask it’s about this particular item, like if it looks dated or if it’s not a good collection etc. I still can sell it on FB or Tradesy or Poshmark so it’s not a problem. About stores like FASHIONPHILE - wow, I was reading their policies and it was nothing about that you have be a long term seller or something like that. It just says that you have to send your pictures and wait for the quote. The same about Real Real. Maybe I missed something lol They are super weird then! Had to mention it somewhere
Still thanks for your answer I appreciate you!)

Did you buy the purse because you like it and want to wear it or to sell? Can't tell from your post. You will likely lose money if you try to sell it yourself so either wear it with joy or see if you can return it.

To answer what your question is... I think this bag is quite dated. I personally wouldn't buy it. You may find the someone willing though as we are all different with differing opinions.

I bought it for the special occasion (like very special) because it fitted perfectly to my outfit and together it looked really gorgeous so I didn’t think practical that time. Now I see that it doesn’t really fit my everyday style and going out style as well. So far I still like it by itself I can’t just buy Gucci purses for going out once and keep in the closet after that because I can buy a few more lol So I got a contradiction in my mind and needed other opinions you know) In another thread people become crazy about buying soho disco or small Marmont, black or beige etc. All of us sometimes mix up with own feelings lol!))
P.s. it was unreturned purchase unfortunately and in perfect condition so it’s nothing I could ask like a reason for return

Thanks for your opinion! I really need it from people with a good taste and sense of time because I got used to be more like a boho person and now my style is changing but I still stuck and start to be uncomfortable with the things I used to like so it’s hard to make a right decision even if looks weird outside the situation. I still like it but kinda not like it anymore. Hope somebody felt the same at least once))

Bags aren't investments. Very few bags hold their value. Maybe the Hermes Birkin, Kelly and Constance and Chanel Classic Flap don't lose AS MUCH, but they still drop once you take it out of the shop. Other models from those brands? think 40% gone after a good few uses.

If you bought the Gucci bag because you love the style and want to use it, good on you - use it to your hearts content.

If you bought the Gucci bag because you thought you could flip it for good money, well - this is one of those situations where limited edition/retired style does not equate to rare/collectible and $$.

**EDITED to add:
(bought it online in vintage store from Canada). Paid 420$. The thing is that I found a person on Tradesy who sells this purse for 950$ because she bought it in Neumann Markus for 1590$ and it still has a tag.
What price someone LISTS a bag for is completely different than what something SELLS for. It's like people who list brand new Birkins for 2x retail. I highly doubt anyone is paying those prices, but it's nice to day dream.

You said in your other post that you bought it online from a vintage store in Canada? First dibs is American isn’t it?

And you cannot return a purse you have used.

I’m sorry, I may be having a hard time following you. If you are asking if you should keep it, then that is really up to you. Are you going to use it? Then keep it. I wouldn’t keep anything around just because it might be worth something some day. Ask the beanie baby hoarders how that works out.
