Keep or Return?

I purchased a Pochette Metis in empreinte leather from the LV website.

It arrived today, and a couple of things about it concern me. First, when I pulled it out of its dust bag, I noticed that it did not have the plastic protector covering the latch. This made me think that I may have received a previously returned bag. Second, the lining and interior pocket dividers have a fair amount of "poof" to them. Is this poof normal? Also, am I being silly to be bothered by the lack of the plastic protector on the latch?

I would be mildly annoyed by the plastic not being on the hardware but I wouldn’t return the bag because of it. I also wouldn’t pay much attention to the puffiness of the interior pockets. The bag looks to be in great condition but if those things truly bother you, then return it.

Personally I don’t see these things as a reason to return. Is there anything wrong with the latch? If not, then why does the protective plastic matter?

My PM didn't have the plastic and I know that my SA ordered it and it wasn't a return. You can always buy the plastic, which I did, to protect the hardware. No one sees the inside of the bag and given the space constraints when it is being made, I think that's normal.

I ordered two pouchette metis (one in reverse and one in regular mono) in Feb from the website. The Reverse arrived without protective stickers, but the mono arrived with protective stickers. I think it depends on who packs the bag, sometimes they remove the stickers. My reverse one also had some bubbling or puffing of the interior, whereas the mono was perfect. In the end, I prefer the reverse PM and that was the one I kept since the bag was perfect on the outside. Once I started using the bag, I think the puffiness of the interior got better. At least with stuff inside, its not something I notice anymore.

Just because the protective film isn't on there doesn't mean it's a return, I've had SA's remove as it was being packaged. As long as there aren't any scratches on the lock it wouldn't bother me.. The bag looks great I would keep.

Yes, definitely keep. It looks in perfect shape and they often remove the plastic coverings before sale.
