Hi ladies! Some beautiful watches and jewellery on here... I usually just lurk ;) but would love to hear your opinion on my new watch, a Tudor Black Bay 36. It's my first more "serious" watch. I love the watch itself, but had originally imagined getting something more classic e.g. silver dial, slightly smaller more versatile looking.
I dress casually (but not sporty as such), and I work from home so no office "uniform" to stick to...I already have some small and more formal watches to wear for dressy occasions. I wanted to get something special that would withstand everyday wear and tear, as well as swimming - we live near the beach.
I'm just debating whether I made the right choice or if I should have gone for a "safer" less "masculine" option with a more subtle, classic dial? The men in my life love it, my mother and daughter aren't convinced... and I'm hugely indecisive by nature (in case you hadn't guessed!) I can still return it in the next few days and get something else.... the other model I was considering was a Tudor Glamour like in the last picture.
Any opinions are welcome! TIA :) IMG_20190321_134550.jpg

I like the band on the one you bought, best. I think it looks great especially as an "everyday" watch. I wonder what a silver dial (same style) would look like?

Thank you Skyqueen for your reply! I love the brushed steel bracelet too. This one doesn't come with a silver dial, but the Tudor Glamour comes in silver, here's a photo I found. I tried one on, it was very nice but wears bigger than the black dial because it's lighter and shinier.

I think you made a great choice! (But I'm a guy ...)

It's a very interesting, clean & nice looking watch, and one of the BlackBays you're going to see significantly less on the street. I think it's a perfect choice for what you want it to be.

Kind regards,
Oliver

Thanks to you all for taking the time to reply!
Funnily enough I always thought I wanted a Cartier Tank, but when I started learning more about mechanical watches and then tried this on, I loved it... I guess I will try to "own" my choice instead of second guessing it (bad habit of mine )
Might still get a Tank in a few years though

Both very different looks, Black Bay more casual and Glamour is classier. My husband has a Black Shield and Glamour which was bought ages ago and he loves it as a dress watch. Mom has a very old Tudor that looks like a Rolex Datejust. They love Tudor.

Tudor hands down over Cartier for me. [emoji4]

Thanks for answering! My mum has an old Tudor too, it's tiny (for me - 26mm) and quite Rolex-like. She influenced my choice of brand, but is now disappointed I didn't get a more elegant watch :-s

I also got the BB36 with the blue face a month ago and I love it. I’ve worn it almost every day with work clothes, casual clothes and even gym clothes. I could not be happier with it.

For reference I also have a mother of pearl Tag Heuer Carrera which is dressier and I like the Tudor more as I feel it’s more versatile.

That's a lovely Tag, I like mother of pearl a lot actually but it's definitely more girly. Congrats on your recent BB36! The blue dial is gorgeous too.

I prefer the one you bought. I like the circle markers vs, the stick markers..sportier and looks better balanced.
