My little 2 yr old cockapoo is in the hospital. She has had a stomach ailment the past couple of days. I didn't think much of it until the middle of the night when she started throwing up every hour and had diarrhea which eventually turned into blood. I brought her in at 4:30 this morning to the nearest emergency vet hosp and they said it was a good thing I did as she was severely deydrated. She is on iv's and hanging in there. They are going to keep her for at least 24 hours to make sure she's ok. She's only about 15 lbs. I am so worried about her - you don't realize just how much you love your fur babies until something like this happens. I will keep you all updated.

thanks guys. i just spoke with the doctor. she is doing "ok"....still has bloody discharge but she said that's normal and she most likely has an inflamed abdomen due to a virus. They're going to take x-rays soon to rule out any bowel/abdomen obstruction. I may take the kids and go visit her later. I miss her!
