I found this at Bloomingdales at the Merrimack Premium Outlets today. I'm on the fence about keeping though the price was good. It retailed for $378. I ended up getting it for $165.
I love the color. It just called to me. I also like how the flap unzips into a big compartment. I haven't cut the tags, though. It has a funny odor. Cant explain it. Not really chemical. Seems to be fading.

I took it back to Bloomingdales to exchange it because the odor was still going strong this morning, but they were sold out. I decided to hang on to it for now. It's sitting in front of an open window with the lining pulled out. And it's pouring out. A couple of sunny days would probably bake the smell out of it.
I saw the same exact bag at Lord & Taylor this afternoon full price $378. There was another new color bag in that same style peach blossom. So pretty but it smelled just like my bag only not as strong.
I'm wondering why a current bag would end up at the outlet? Retail is $378. I paid around $165. For that price difference I don't mind having to air it out.

My new KS purse had the new car odor for nearly a week after receiving it, perhaps it was the smell of treated leather (i don't really know).
I'm glad it's gone now, it was pretty strong at first.

Must have been a return, the Coach outlet will take full price bags as returns and then they usually mark them down even if they are currently in store. Love the color of that and am waiting for it to get marked down before I take the plunge

For reference if you receive a bag with an odor, buy Citrus Magic solid from Walmart or online for less than $10. Have something that will keep the bag open and place the Citrus Magic in. Set a couple of days. Then keep holding open with something for another couple days to air out.....smell will be gone and the air freshner smell will be gone and the bag will be odorless. That has been my experience

I bought the little minka and noticed the funny smell too. I watched the Kate spade sales lady unwrap a fresh one for me too. I believe it's the leather dye. Mine is black. However, I have never got this odor from any of my prada gucci coach or LV bags. I hate to blame the country of origin. But then again my coach bags are older made in USA ????

Every time I enter KS outlet, my eyes start running and for a second the smell is almost unbearable but after few minutes my nose (and eyes) get used to the smell. Must be KS leather or dye in general.
