Kate spade bag not as described

Hi, I recently purchased a kate spade beau bag from ebay. Even though it was listed as a used bag, the seller wrote in the description that the bag is used only a few times and in mint condition. Before I bought the bag, I asked the seller if there are any marks or scratches on the smooth leather. And she said there are none. However, I checked the bag and there a quite a few scruffs and marks on the bag.

I don't really want to return the bag because I still love it. But, should I ask for a discount ? How do I ask her for a discount such that she does not think that I am a nightmare buyer ? Thanks !

Lovely bag! I wouldn't ask for a discount. It was sold as used and I wouldn't expect a used bag to be factory pristine. The photos look like scratches that could even happen on the sales floor from people picking it up. The beau bag seems to have the type of leather that easily picks up scratches.

I only use *bay for selling 99% of the time and it's a real hassle as a seller but from my experience, since you specifically asked about marks and scratches and she said no and you genuinely feel disappointed, I would ask for price adjustment. Generally, 20% is the standard adjustment but it depends on the seller nd buyer. JMO.

this. as a buyer, i have asked for adjustment before because the bag arrived with wear and the listing said like new.

She responded really quickly. And she is willing to make a price adjustment ! But, how much is a fair adjustment ?
