Does anyone know what designer made Kate Middleton's dress? She was wearing it when it was announced she and Prince William are engaged and it's gorgeous. Everyone is focusing on her ring (previously Princess Diana's) but I want to know about her dress!!
STYLISH women across Britain are desperate to get their hands on Kate Middletons stunning engagement dress.
But the £385 deep blue Issa dress, pictured left, by the 28-year-olds favourite designer, Brazilian-born Daniella Helayel, sold out within 24 hours of Kate and Prince Williams announcement on Tuesday.
However, copycat versions are now on sale at bargain prices.
Fashion bosses at Tesco have designed a short-sleeve version for just £16.
It will be in the shops from Monday.
The lightweight cotton-jersey dress has a cross-over waistband, fluted sleeves and pleated front and is less clingy than the original Issa silk dress. On the High Street Lipsy has also been quick to pick up on the bride-to-bes sexy but demure style. It is selling its take on the dress with long sleeves and a wrap top for £45.
But shoppers will have to wait to get their hands on it for a little bit longer as the dress wont be hitting stores for a few weeks. The companys customer service is already taking pre-orders online (www.lipsy.co.uk).
Dare I say it but could this spell the end of the Little Black Dress?
If the last few days are anything to go by, navy is the new black.
In a season when the only colours to be seen in are camel and red, royal (geddit?) blue is fast becoming the new hue du jour. And we reckon Kate Middleton's dress, which she wore for the announcement of her engagement to Prince Wills, is only set to confirm that fact. So although the Issa dress sold out in 24 hours, we've found this perfect replica, which is a snip of the price and available to pre-order NOW! So, blue dress, check. Blue sapphire ring, still pending... sigh.
