i have always love LV and I finally got my hands on a new LV TWIST bag. I know it is a classic but somehow, I am torn in between the purchase i made. I heard people saying dont buy LV leather, buy their canvas but here i am, picked on a leather- LV TWIST Bag. Idk why but I feel a little overwhelmed. It got worse when people saying that the twist is not as good looking anymore (out of trend). I am really stressed out on this.

I saved every dime for this bag and idk why, i am feeling slightly lost after this purchases. On another note, I wanted a chanel flap too, and i am started to fail a little annoyed that i did not save more money for chanel but at the same time, i felt like i will feel way more worse parting twice my lv twist money on a chanel but then again the hype for the classic flap is crazyyy..:doh:

I like the twist a lot but cannot bring myself to pay that much. If you are unsure i say return it and save up the money for the CF. I went through the same when purchasing my Chanel WOC (almost ended up with the Croisette WOC) and am at "bag peace" now. Bottom line dont settle....the bag needs to make your heart sing and if you are second guessing yourself it might not be worth it. Just my $0.02.

I'd choose Vuitton over Chanel any day, but I can see how the Twist is not the kind of classic that will keeps its magic for 20-30-40 years as a Chanel.
Btw what colours it is, what leather?

I definitely agree with @sleeplessinseattle. If you don't love it, return it.
I am saving up for a CF also - my boyfriend (at the time - now husband) was going to purchase a CF for me at the 31 Rue Cambon store during Christmas - Black Caviar Maxi in GHW but I really wanted Silver - couldn't find it anywhere so I ended up not getting it. Biggest. Regret. To. Date.

For what it's worth, I have multiple leather pieces from LV and they've been wonderful.
However, what really matters is how YOU feel about the bag, regardless of other people's opinions or advice. If owning the Twist is giving you this much anxiety, then return the bag. Making a big purchase like that should make you happy and excited, not annoyed and overwhelmed. Return the bag if you still can, sit with your thoughts for a minute, and figure out what you would truly be happy spending that kind of money on. Don't buy Chanel just because of the hype, but don't buy something else because it's what you can afford *right now*. Really think about what you would love and use, and try not to focus on what is or isn't trendy.

Hi, I just bought a black Twist pm and a jacquard strap to have different carrying options. I had some of the doubts you mentioned, too. But I really like it and I’m not a Chanel person, so my situation is different for sure. I was looking at the Dior Caro as an alternative and there are also so many people who say it will never hold its value like a Chanel etc. If you buy a bag with the aim that it should hold its value very well because you plan on selling it then the Twist is not the right bag I believe.
If it stresses you so much maybe return it and save up for something you really love. Good luck deciding!

I am also an LV lover and not Chanel, so I really like the Twist, as I have 4 (one PM and 3 MM). Which color and size did you get? Is it a classic color or a seasonal Twist? If you are having buyer remorse, return it and get what you want. However a Twist is a very beautiful and durable bag.

Twist is a beautiful bag and style is not really new. Several years ago I went to the handbag museum in Amsterdam and displayed in the case were twist bags from the 1980s. I did not know before going to the museum that the twist was actually based upon a vintage Louis Vuitton design. If you love it, that’s all that matters. I personally don’t care what others think about my bags. I buy what I love. But only you can answer if you prefer a Chanel.

I only have 1 Twist MM and love it to death. I love everything from the epi leather body to its compact design and fun twist-lock closure. Hoping to add many more in the future :smile:

I didn’t know this either — thank you Snibor. I just googled it and found the original bag called Trapeze Clutch launched in 1988. Such a fun fact for us Twist lovers.

when I first bought my twist mm, it was in 2018 and the price was also a bit of a pinch for me. but upon using it I realise how versatile it was and how much it fits all my essentials comfortably (without having to play Tetris). I own over 40 bags and this piece became one of my favourites.. I've worn it a lot to work and even off-work to the malls and such. its a great bag and really hardy. no regrets on my end

The twist is one of my dream bags! I understand that the Chanel CF is an iconic bag, and I would also love to have one. However, I find the current prices absolutely absurd.
The twist is modern and fresh, but also classic in a way.
I’m sorry that you are having these feelings, these bags are supposed to make us happy. I had the same feeling when I bought my (only) Chanel bag (a seasonal flap), but my feelings changed to happiness in a couple of days. Maybe it’s the same with you?
