i'm in my last year of medical school, and i recently found out that i got into an ophthalmology residency program! :yahoo:

i've been on pins-and-needles this month in anticipation of finding out the results as ophthalmology is a pretty competitive specialty, and there was a good chance i wouldn't get in at all. i'm currently thinking about doing pediatric ophthalmology which means operating on kids who are visually impaired or blind etc.

anyway, i just wanted to share this with y'all since i'm in the chanel forum so much. these past few months have been a flurry of interviews and airplane flights, and it was always great to check into tPF from the terminal. just nice to have something familiar while away from home. thanks so much for being fabulous, everyone!

Congrats! Nice to have another doc on the board - I'm in psychiatry! I know optho is really tough to get into, so you totally deserve a pat on the back. Good luck on your exams!

Wow--great for you!! My mom works w/ blind people so you already have a special place in my heart!!! You have worked so hard...You should reward yourslef with a Chanel when things calm down for you..You absolutely deserve to sit in the lap of luxury!!!!! Emmy

That's awesome Jennifer! I was born with a lazy right eye. It was a pretty severe turn-in and took three surgeries to correct. The first two were in the 1970's at ages 8 and 16. I had the last surgery in November 05 at the age of 46! My eye is perfectly straight now. And despite my age, it was a pediatric opthomologist who fixed it. I have the utmost respect for anyone who can perform eye surgery, or any surgery for that matter. Celebrate with a new bag!
