OK...****UPDATE**** After receiving an email back from a CS rep at Michael Kors (if she wants to call herself that) I called my Michael Kors boutique and asked for someone who could tell me about caring for their leather. A WONDERFUL SA got on the phone and told me that they DO suggest we spray the MK rain/stain repellant on many bags to prevent water marks from staying on our bags and forming "rings" over time. She then said if I would like to bring in my new bag they would spray it for me!!! (nascar I thought of YOU b/c you told me to go have it done at the boutique!!!!) So....where did I go??? To the boutique of course! LOL Asked for the SA who talked to me over the phone and she sprayed my new luggage colored braided grommet shoulder bag and showed me the best way to do it. I then asked about my python bag which I was carrying. She said for the embossed python I will never see any staining/water marks so she suggests not spraying that bag. It's a very easy to care for bag! She also said if we see any dirt, the MK conditioner is used as a spot treatment to get off small little marks. I am THRILLED! I finally got someone who knew what they were talking about and who helped me! :D Wanted to share with you guys b/c you are all so helpful!

Told ya it's better to treat them. It doesn't harm the leather at all, just helps protect it. Better safe than sorry...

By the way, here's another idea: I always carry a tall kitchen plastic bag--rolled, folded and held that way with a rubber band--in my bag in case I have to go out in the pouring rain. When it's just raindrops, I don't bother kuz I've sprayed the bags.

yes, you did and I totally thought of you and nascar while I was driving to the boutique this morning! And, guess what??? It started to rain!!!! LOL (I had my bag in it's dustbag inside another bag though b/c I had a funny feeling....) Now I feel "protected" if I get stuck in a rainstorm at work and have no umbrella. I also LOVE your idea of carrying a tall kitchen plastic bag in your bag at all times. Three women in the boutique this morning were having their new bags sprayed! It was so nice to talk to people who understood my obsession and addiction LOLOL
