I couldn’t find a thread on this type of jewelry so wanted to share my discoveries. About a decade ago I found the Galleria Tanana in Sayulita, Mexico that sold genuine indigenous made beadwork from the Huichol tribe, and fell in love with it. Over the years I’ve bought a few of their beaded cuffs in this traditional style. Check out http://www.tanana.org/aikutzi-by-huichol.html

Then a few years ago I spied the most gorgeous beaded bracelets using this beading technique, but in such unique patterns and colors. Stunning pieces that are designed by Julie Rofman from California and handbeaded by women in Quatemala for a fair wage. So happy to now have one of her medium sized cuffs - the Tahiti style. Love it

I love the colors and the tile bead bracelets. I was looking at the site and I might order a bracelet. The first few pictures, is there an actual site to purchase first designs as well?

The Galleria Tanana doesn’t have an e-store but on Etsy there are a few shops that sell traditional bead bracelets if you search “Huichol bracelets”.

I have several Julie Rofman bracelets from ages ago. (I got them because the ones by Dries Van Noten were sold out.) I found them hard to cinch up. The current designs have a buckle option, which is much better.
