Hello to all!I have a question about Sterling silver necklaces. Is there a special mark on the necklace e.g 925 which indicates that it is st.silver?I just got one used big heart locket with horseshoe necklace but I cannot see such a sign...

It should be marked. All my JC sterling is marked with 925.

Does it looked like it's been used a lot? I have one sterling piece, not JC, where I can barely see the mark because it's almost worn off.

You might try searching for the same necklace on ebay to see if the sellers are describing it as SS or showing photos of the mark.

It should have the 925 engraved...unless it might be plated or something? im not sure if they do plated sterling s?
even my earrings have the 925 engraved on the little "pin" part so it should be on the necklace unless it actualyl isnt sterling ;)
