Hello, I apologize in advance if I am posting in the wrong place, but I did a search and didn't really find what I was looking for... I wasn't sure sure if this belonged in the *bay forum or here, so please move if necessary.

Has anyone had experience selling jewelry on *bay? I decided to list a few pieces that I am no longer making use of (I have a different ID so I'm not trying to advertise in any way) and ALL of them got snatched up within minutes of listing. All the buyers have over 1000 feedback, most 100% positive but a couple have kept it private. I'm not sure if there's some sort of scam going on? I have never sold jewelry, so I don't know if these items just sell quickly? Why is the feedback private? My paranoia is getting the best of me, I keep thinking they might pay, I ship and they pull some sort of scam! Please help ease my worries!

If anyone can give me any advise or share their knowledge/experience, I would really appreciate it. I know there are purse scams out there, but was wondering if the same held true for jewelry. These are NOT high end pieces by the way, just some old plain gold bracelets and chains.

TIA!

i tried selling a few pieces and i had no luck at all. doesn't necessarily mean anything, but i think with ebay buyers, they prefer to buy jewelry from well-known jewelry sellers than someone like me who just has a few pieces here and there from my personal collection.

i also don't have experience with dealing with a lot of buyers when it comes to private feedback. i do know a lot of people who choose to put their feedback as private is usually trying to hide something—like a recent negative that could potentially harm them from selling or worse, buying since the seller can cancel the transaction at any time.

if i were you, i would ONLY accept payment from paypal and nothing else. at which point, you should be completely covered. hopefully they won't try and con you into them sending you a bank transfer, etc. because from what i have heard, that's where the fraud primarily exists.

either way, good luck!
