I don't know if this has already been covered, but do you keep a jewelry inventory? If so, which information do you put down? Is it digital or in physical form? In 2020 I feel the desire to become super organized somehow.

Yes I’ve always kept an electronic list of my jewelry on an Excel spreadsheet that includes designer and full item name; material (18k, sterling, diamond, gems); where/when purchased; purchase price etc. Plus I have a folder to hold the paper receipts. Keeps me organized and handy in case of loss or theft.

It's such a good idea. Now I'll have a hard time piecing together all the info for some of the older pieces (I think my first item was a present for my christening haha), but I can at least try. Nowadays if I buy something I ask for an expertise with it.

I do have my jewelry inventory just to ensures that I do not miss any. Twice in a year I check the list just for ensure that all the pieces are intact. This helps in case any of the piece requires cleaning or any extra care like polishing or setting modification.
