I went to my local MK store today and tried on both bags. I ended up getting the black jet set travel tote in saffiano leather. However, after reading countless threads and online reviews, I'm wary of keeping the travel tote. A lot of issues regarding the bag seem to be how the straps are uncomfortable when you put too much stuff in it... I also don't like how the top 'seam' of the bag isn't continuous (it has that break in the leather that they cover up with the strap).

I'm in my last year of college, so I'm looking for a bag that I can use for class and for work. I usually only bring a small notebook, a thin/clear file folder, ipad/blackberry playbook, pencil case, and water bottle.

Which size did you get in the jet set tote? I'd say the small or medium is probably comparable to size to the zip top tote. If you got the large the zip top tote will be a lot smaller. I like the look of the zip top tote better than the jet set tote, it looks more polished IMO. The jet set tote kind of reminds me of a beach bag for some reason. It sounds like your already having second thoughts on your new bag which IMO is a good reason to return/exchange it. Why not take all the stuff you normally carry for school to the store and try it out and see if it all fits in the zip top tote?

I got the medium travel tote. I wish they would make a larger version of the zip top one or make it the same size as the medium travel tote.

I guess I'll try putting everything in tonight and see. Since it was the first day of classes today, I didn't have any folders with me. The SA put a few pieces of 8x11 papers in the zip top tote to show me if it can fit a folder, but that didn't really help lol
