Hi everyone, I'm looking to buy my boyfriend a new pair of sandals, I came across this and I thought it would suit him nicely. He doesn't wear designer items, so I'm a bit hesitate. Have anyone has their S.O wear this ? How comfortable it is? Is it true to size (He is 12) ?...and do you have any recommendation for the alternative...Thank you, really appreciate your opinions.

My DH historically has not been really into designer anything, but is a huge sandal/flip flop wearer. I got him these and he loves them and will wear them any chance he will get. I would order him more, but H will only make in his size in an exotic for now, which I think is a bit too delicate for him. His size is larger than what they produce in normal production unfortunately.

What is his size ? I never purchase men shoes before...He is 12 US, not sure I should get 44.5 or 45..

I looked up a size 12 men’s in the conversion chart (link below) and it said 46. On the Hermes size chart (under Izmir) a size 12 is, I think, a 45 (but you should double check). My DH is a size 10 US; 9.5 UK (Edward green). He did not find the Izmir comfy, but it may be bc he is flat in the arch and somewhat wide. I don’t remember if he tried on a 43 or 44. (I did get him H loafers once in a 43 which were too small.

if Possible, it might be best to measure the insole of his favorite slides and then measure the prospective insole of the Izmir?

here are pics of the two manolo slides he ended up buying instead. The green ones are a pebbled leather. On the first pair his feet aren’t fully in the slide.

edit: @Pepper2110, while we cross posted, I edited bc im actually not sure if he tried izmir 43 or 44. At any rate, glad you can measure and go to the store! Pls let us know what you decide! Happy shopping!

He ended up getting an open toe sandal with a strap by Manolo Blanik in 44. Many years ago, he used to wear Prada slides and found them comfortable too.

Look like this conversion chart is a bit different from Hermes website. I think I need to consult with my SA. Thanks for your details and reminding me to measure the insole. Insole measure is a safe choice I think. I plan to go to the store tomorrow.

My feet measure a US 13 but I wear size 14 shoes. The Izmir in 47 fits me just to the back of my foot so I’d say their sizing chart runs about a half size small. If you order them from Hermes.com, you can return them for a refund as long as he tries them on on carpet and doesn’t make any marks to them to show wear.
