It's Hina-matsuri! (Girls' day) Whatcha doin'?

I like this day, and since I married a man 3/4 japanese, I think I'm going to start my own doll collection.

Hina matsuri is Japanese for Girl's or Doll's Festival
It is celebrated in Japan every March 3rd

Traditionally, a platform covered covered with a red carpet are used to display a set of ornamental dolls representing the Emperor, Empress, attendants, and musicians in traditional court dress of the Heian period (794 - 1185) in their household (as well as dept store etc)

This is the day to pray for young girl's growth and happiness and usually the mother cooks special dishes that celebrate/represents the theme...

Oh wow, I think I used to have a few of those little dolls when I was younger. I know I was obsessed with Japanese and Chinese culture when I was little.
