Its a fake!!! But a fake what??

Ok, so i found this ring and i love it and i want it. but the person who bought it got it from a knock off store that gets it stock from china. so obviously i wont buy the ring.

BUT.... its a fake. so all i have to do is find the original. it looks cartier like? but i cant find the ring anywhere. does anyone recognize this ring as being a real SOMETHING??

when you say fake, do you mean it's not a real diamond or just not the real designer brand in which you are seeking?

It is a knockoff of something. I cant see the inside from the picture, but it has a designer brand stamped on the inside, and it comes in a fake box with shopping bag authenticity card and such. the girl who bought it couldnt remember which big brand it was but loved her fake.

i guess i could just take it to a jewelers to replicate. but is that ok? or is that wrong?

Looks very Movado to me, why not start with their web site? It's definitely a minimalistic brand.

Surely the brand would be listed on the box or bag or authenticity card of the fake? Could the owner check the packaging and let you know? Otherwise, maybe you could take the photo to a reputable jeweler and have them identify it?

I don't see anything wrong with getting your jeweler to make it for you. It's not like you will have it stamped with a particular brand or logo on the ring and try to pass it off as the real thing. Most reputable jewelers will put their own mark/stamp on the item.

No it's not wrong! I think 80% of people do that with their engagement rings! As long as you don't say "It's a Tiffany ring" when it's NOT (or any other brand) which is pretty cheesy, I think it's totally cool to have one made! It's the fronting that bugs me personally.

I think wearing that ring with the knockoff logo and blah blah blah is wrong, but having a jeweler make you something similar is ok. It's different then a fake bag.
