Is this the PM problem everyone talks about?

It could just be extra glue. You may want to try a soft cloth and try wiping it away.
I don’t see the issue... are you talking about the white residue? That looks like excess glue to me and not glazing. The glazing is black and not white.
I am sorry but I disagree with the prior posts because this happened to mine. That is exactly how it started around the edges. Then it progressed to the front, bottom and even the areas that are not exposed in the side folds of the bag. I brought it in and she used the white eraser on it and it removed some areas but totally made some way worse, extending the peeling spot. They gave me a replacement which has the NM in the wording on the tag that comes with it. This will be my 2nd replacement the first was due to cracking and now this was peeling. My SA said if anything happens again they will refund instead of exchange because of all the known problems. My long winded advice is to keep an eye on it but if you notice other areas, in my experience, it is going to get worse.
The PM was actually available as place in cart on the website a few nights ago, and I had it in my cart, had my credit card info all entered in, and was ready to click the submit order button...and I couldn't pull the trigger! This isn't the first time I've balked at buying this bag. I've had it in my shopping cart online a couple of other times in the past, and almost bought it in the boutique a few years ago, but ended up buying something else instead. I love this bag and the way it looks and the functionality of it. And I know heaps of other people have it and love it...but it's the thread after thread of people that have had issues, not to mention the many YT videos of people talking about their issues and how they've had to exchange multiple times with this bag that has stopped me every single time. If it's not cracked canvas it's peeling or melting glaze. Or it's a defective lock. Or wonky or uneven stitching. Or a lopsided lock. It seems like there is always something with this model.
SuziZ-If you love the style, consider the Empreinte. I had problems with 2 canvas Metis, but am totally enjoying my Emp with no problems.
I actually got the Clapton PM about a year ago. It's a very similar style and I'm happy with it. I still love the look of the PM, but I just can't get past the issues people keep reporting. Maybe someday...
