Don't worry about this. I had the same. Apparently the white stuff is the residue they use to give it the sheen it has on the canvas. It's like it's shedding skin it does rub off too if you want to quicken the process.

the 2nd and third pictures look like the"shedding" but that first picture looks like actual holes in the canvas?

The first picture looks like the canvas is starting to crack on the stitching.
