Hi ladies,
So long story short, I found a great deal on a David Yurman pendant. All said and done, I paid about 33% of retail for it. I know, I know. Anyway, this seller has been on ebay since 2002, has thousands of transactions and has 100% flawless feedback. They only have one of each kind pieces listed (they don't have multiple of the same item) and they have a 14 day money back return policy. I was completely comfortable buying from them. May I mention, all they sell is yurman (they aren't selling transmissions and car batteries too) and most of their items are listed as used, including the pendant I bought.
The day it was supposed to ship, the seller emailed me stating that they do an inspection before every shipment and the stone had a hairline fracture so he was going to "email his supplier to get another one just like it. This is a current style in the stores selling for $2200...I paid $800.00 for it. I asked who his supplier was and he stated he has suppliers all across the country that sell pieces that were on display and can't be sold as new. I then confirmed that it was indeed authentic and he responses with a one word answer, "yes".

The new item from his supplier is supposed to be in today and he was going to ship it but I still haven't heard from him and something smells fishy. What do you ladies think ? The supplier story isn't adding up for me.

If a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

People who don't research their purchase will leave positive feedback because they don't know the item and the quality that they should receive.

I think you're doing things in the wrong order. You're supposed to ask questions and authenticate items first. (And by authentication, I don't mean to ask the seller!)

----------------------------

There was a discussion yesterday on ebay's fashion board. (It's the newly combined clothing and purse boards.)

Someone posted that they bought an item in early June, two days later, it was marked as shipped with a bogus tracking number and the buyer hasn't received it yet.

Well someone decided to look at the OP's bidding history. It turns out that the buyer bought a 1.2 carat diamond ring, D color SI1 quality ($5K value) for $49 including free shipping. It was also noted that the seller has sold 19 of them for the same price!

TBH, it's hard to sympathize with that buyer.

When you say that you confirmed it was authentic, do you mean that you had an independent authentication by a reputable person / service? Just asking the seller won't confirm authenticity.

Ladies...I know this purchase sounds foolish on my part so I want to correct few of my previous statements and clarity. I misstated the item I bought actually retails for &1700 and the final sales price was $875. Still a deal. I have a ton of Yurman and I figured that once I received the piece, I would be able to tell if it was fake and with a 14 day return policy, I would return it if it wasn't legit. The pics on the auction are authentic but I also know that bait and switch occurs. I am going to email the seller and cancel the transaction.

It is possible that your seller was replacing the stone but not from a Yurman supplier..

It may look the same, have the same carat weight but may not have been
selected by the Yurman design team/stone buyer.

If you have the opportunity to cancel the transaction, I would be so inclined
to do so.
