No it's not a mistake. This is a lumiere and has a lot of embellishment all done by hand. Very rare and highly sought after by collectors. Would love one of these.

they had it at display in our hermès store in frankfurt and it really stood out with all its sparkliness (making up words again :p) the price is a bummer though.
guess one really has to see it as art rather than a shawl

My SA said that these shawls have over 200 hours of hand embroidery work in them. Knowing that it starts to becoming quite reasonable for Hermes.

One of most stunning pieces. I have admired this ever since I saw it in the scarf booklet. Alas, my money tree has since died but I will admire it from afar. It is a gorgeous work of art.

its the hermès pegasus 140 shawl. and it says its 5850.-
you can get leather bags for that price...
is it a mistake or is this the actual price? im just asking because
recently they had a lot of wrong prices on the nm site (was it?)
so might just have messed up the digits or something.

LaLa has posted pictures of it. It is an amazing piece. She enabled me, sigh. It is the most incredible work of art...it is one of Hermes' truly unique pieces that one will see few wear.

Honestly, if I money was easier to come by right now I would buy it. I'd mount it in a huge double plexi-glass frame so the light could pass through and put it on the wall. That way I would be able to look at it everyday especially first thing in the morning and last thing before lights off. It's one of my favourite designs.

I tried one on and it was so beautiful! The detail was beyond gorgeous and it looked so good draped around my neck. I asked the price after the fact and briefly went silent. The tooth fairy would have to leave me a lot of extra something under my pillow to spend that much on a scarf.

Edia the shawl is beautiful. I don't know if I could care for it as it looks delicate, but I would not mind this as a present at all!!:p
