Is this paint chipping on necklace a problem?

What do you think of the look of this necklace? I love it but DH says the lime tassle looks odd, like a fishing lure.

I also see the white paint between the links is rubbed bare or cracking in spots, though it doesnt seem to be actively chipping.

Given all of this, would you keep or return?? It was around $35 from Juicy.
