In 1984 I purchased a trinity-style ring secondhand at a little gold jewelry store on the Ponte Vecchio in Florence. I had really wanted a Cartier Trinity band but I couldn't afford it at the time. I was living in Paris then and I took short trips all over Europe every so often. I didn't believe it was authentic Cartier because the bands were flatter and there were tiny unrecognizable to me hallmarks on the outside of each band. It also cost me less than $100. I wore it for a couple of years and it's been at the bottom of a jewelry case ever since.
I recently found it and began trying to identify the hallmarks and maker's mark. The outside of each band has the eagle head to indicate it's 18k gold of french origin. The rose gold band also has a wide diamond mark with a heart in the center and perhaps a letter on each side of the heart. It's hard to tell - my eyes are old and I need a better loupe or a microscope. There are no markings of any kind inside the bands. I am attaching the best images I can get thus far.
