Is this lambskin on intertwined chain??

I noticed one part of the lambskin on my vintage chain has peeled. Now, I wondered if the material intertwined in the chain is lambskin after all??!!! or some other material?? This purse is a vintage, and I begin to have this naggy feeling that the lambskin on the chain has been changed and this one I got here is not lambskin after all.

Experts, your opinions please. Is this lambskin? Does Lambskin peel this way?

Wow! I don't know! It doesn't look so good, but I am sure you could get it replaced.

I've had some issue with new wocs where is the intertwined leather is not one piece of leather but layers of glued down leather. So the layers start coming unglued and little pieces start sticking out.

Hopefully someone else will be able to comment on your problem.

I have a vintage chain where the leather cracked (kind of like it was dry and was rubbed too much), but I've never seen leather peel.

It looks pretty questionable to me.
