I recently purchased a Keepall 55 Bandouliere from (what I would consider) a reputable eBay seller "authentic-brandshop-tokyos", with a 99.8% rating.

Last night, I saw a link to a video by this guy named "ArchieLuxury", who talks about all the "super fakes" coming from Japanese eBay sellers. It was posted in a FB group I belong to.

Now I'm getting concerned about my bag. I will post a link to the pics and info on eBay.

Anyone know about this guy?? I've ordered from several other Japanese eBay sellers and have more than pleased with my authentic items. I also have several authentic LVs purchased new in stores and online from LV, so I feel I know what an authentic bag looks and feels like.

I do not know this seller in particular, but the super fakes coming from Japan are well known. Even experts have trouble determening whether a bag is real or fake.
This is why I never order luxury goods from Japan. That is the only way to be sure...

Sure, I have heard of super fakes from Japan, but I've always had excellent experiences with Japanese eBay sellers. ArchieLuxury is just an individual with opinions - order an authentication for your item and don't worry about it. If it is fake, you have recourse through eBay and PayPal.

If you look in the Balenciaga forum, there was a definite Bal super fake from an eBay seller that lots of gals here buy LV from. Even when provided with the reasoning why the Bal was fake, the seller repeatedly relisted it after every time eBay removed it.

Recommendations on the best authentication service? Do I just send pics? Also, if I go past the 14-day return period with the seller, do I still have recourse with eBay and PayPal?

Thank you!!

I absolutely agree with this.

This is why I stay away from ebay. I think some, I repeat SOME (NOT all), of these resellers are fully aware of selling counterfeits and tweak them to look used. I read an article somewhere talking about this. It's pretty scary.

As a disclaimer to my comment, I am NOT saying that there aren't any reputable sellers. There certainly are. But people need to do their homework extensively and use reputable authentication services before buying pre-loved, or simply save up and buy it directly from the boutique.

I like ******************, but some people go through caroldiva.com. You submit specific pictures needed for authentication such as all heat stamps/date code. They may be able to authenticate based on the eBay listing alone - it appears to have all those images, in which case you can just send them the link.

And yes, if the item is not authentic and it's past 14 days, you can still get money back through eBay/PayPal. Best of luck!

He's an internet personality (some say troll) who offers opinions on several brands and types of luxury goods, and also apparently begs for money and conducts various tawdry enterprises. Google and read.

Well, I've done some reading about him and wasn't sure if I should even be second-guessing my Keepall. Suppose it's probably not too late to get it authenticated, but I just wondered if he was a wacko and whether or not to listen to what he said.

The wonderful authenticators on this LV forum caught a LV bag from this same seller that was a super fake. It's amazing how meticulously some of the super fakes are being made.

Japanese sellers also sell super fakes of discontinued models that are aged to look slightly used but in excellent condition. As for authenticators....how do you know who they REALLY are? In Asia, there is fake everything for sale, even authentication services. In my mind, even real authenticators, being human, can't get it right 100% of the time. The only way to be 100% sure is to walk into LV.

Oh, and for those who don't live here in Asia, this counterfeiting business is not some back alley situation....I walk past brick and mortar shops (some cheesy looking, some glitzy) carrying every brand from LV, to Chanel, to YSL, you name it, they have them in the windows, along with boxes and bags....it isn't even hidden. The windows often claim authentic items, so some people may truly have no idea that what their buying isn't authentic. Heck, here if you see an apple store, you need to look it up on apple's website to make sure it is a real store. There is a fake one not too far from where I live--I pass it every day as I drive my daughter to school. Just the way it is in some countries, and they keep selling online and raking it in......

i was under the impression that japan has very strong penalties for counterfeit items and strong laws regarding the importing, selling and trading of fakes
