While I'm no expert I'd say the bags will be fake. It's a poorly designed website and have you read the FAQ's? The English is poor and here is question 8...

A. We are sorry for this little difference between the goods you received and the picture on our website. But in fact, the one you received is the same as we put on website. This is due to the chromatist and the different angle the pic shooted. So there might be some differences between practical items and the pictures on our website. For example: color. If so, we apologize for that.

That's ok, I know it's tempting when you really want something but I think you'd have been disappointed!

Have you called Kate Spade? A lot of times they actually have the item... in a store, outlet, or warehouse.

Yes - I did call customer service and the woman I spoke with was pleasant, but not especially helpful. She said they still have the bag in some stores, but none in my home state and that there is no way to order one by phone. I keep checking obsessively in case it pops back.
