Is this a defect?

I was so happy to see the 5 motifs in malachite available on VCA website and I ordered it on Friday and just received it today. But sadly I found a defect (I think) on one of the motif at gold (a gold ball) around of the motif (see pic) attached. I called the customer service and wanted to exchange and they said it is currently not available. But I can’t stand the defect there so I shipped it back to them,

But let me know if anyone of had the same problem that I’ve seen and do u think if it is defect or it is normal.

I can't tell if the gold bead is deformed or if there's something coating it? I'd suggest rubbing that area with a microfibre cloth or q tip - make sure it's not just some leftover polishing compound before dealing with the hassle of replacing.

i did use qtip to see if something can’t be removed but it stayed there, you are correct the good bead is deformed.

You may have been saved, lol. I once saw a used-malachite bracelet and it looked awful. Malachite as a bracelet is tough. It is not a durable stone and looks awful when it’s worn.

Lol….It is beautiful stone. The stone is very popular so that it is not available in boutiques. I knew it is dedicated stone and I will have to be very careful with it. But I love the green color. Now u make me think twice if I ever want to get it again:)

It is so beautiful, I just wanted to warn you, because the stones on the used one I saw looked so matte. I think if you take it off everyday and make sure not to get any lotion or perfume on it while you have it on, you’ll be ok.
