Is this a defect on my Rogue 25 or just how it is?

I bought my Rogue 25 in early May (during 30% off sale) and only carried it once to test out the size. I was taking it out to carry it again and noticed that the edges are a bit "undone" if you will, where you can see the interior fabric coming through near where it meets the zipper. The stitches are there; they just aren't very tight to the zipper edge. Since I know I can't really explain it right, I have pictures to illustrate. It seems to be mostly on one side (and on both left and right of that side of the bag), though even on the other side, it's also a little "loose" for lack of a better term. I can't figure out if that's just how it is or if it's a defect - and if so, is there anything I can do, such as ask for an exchange even though it's been two months and I used it once? I do not see this on my regular size Rogues at all - no hint of the interior shows through.

Oh goodness, I wonder if there's just been a decline in the quality of that specific aspect of the bag. It really wasn't noticeable at first when I unwrapped it - it was when I noticed a bit of the lighter interior fabric coming through as I was getting ready to use it that I looked closer. I haven't been able to get to the store I purchased it from since it wasn't my closest one, but I am wondering if they'll exchange it and I'll find it in the next one, too. Hope not - though honestly, it's not that terrible. It's just the price point - even with 30% off, it's not inexpensive. But if I have to, I can live with it. I'll probably end up using the bag more than usual since it's already imperfect. I tend to store and not use my nicer bags that I buy new since I'm afraid to get that first scratch or mark on them, but that won't apply to this one if I have to keep it!

I'm the same way. I love buying pre-loved bags vs. nwt because they've already been broken in. For some reason I have the hardest time using my new bags. I store them for months w/o using because I'm afraid of messing them up. Of course then there's those I cut the tags on and use immediately. I wonder if the ones I store I really didn't need to buy, I just thought they were pretty. Lol. I'm glad I'm not alone.

Me, too! I've been wondering the same.....did I just like these bags (um, yes!) but if I'm not using it, I probably shouldn't have bought it. I think of how much $ I could have saved myself. My own darn fault! I just love them! Now I have to go check out the few rogues I've purchased recently to check this issue, too. I'll be curious what the store says.

In case anyone still cares, I finally heard back from Coach after nagging them about it for days now (I never got the email Repairs was supposed to send me after they received my item), and they told me my bag is Non-Repairable. They are sending me my bag back and gave me a 30% coupon.

I don’t want to keep this bag because I am worried it will get worse the more I use it. And since it cost $400 I am going to see if I can return it. As for the coupon, nothing planned yet. I will definitely save it for a bag that really catches my eye. This is the first time I got the coupon from them so I don’t want to waste it.

So if anyone gets this damage on their Rogue tea rose in gray , just return/exchange it and save yourselves the hassle of repairs. Or send it to your local cobbler. It’s not worth waiting up to 3 weeks or a month only to get the bag back.

When I owned an first generation Rogue, I did notice that it had some inherent 'faults'. Several others being sold in preowned condition seemed to have the same problem(s), one was seams coming loose in that area as well as the edge coating cracking on the side pockets when they were used for more than a few papers, like an ipad.

Thanks for the update, anthrosphere! So much for it being an easy fix... Really surprised that they can't do anything for that, though 30% off does help soften the disappointment, I hope.

I have not yet been able to get to the store I purchased mine from (and didn't want to go to the other location that is closest since it feels wrong when I didn't buy it from that store), but I'm not hopeful they'd do an exchange since it's beyond the return period anyway. Still doesn't hurt to ask - and maybe it's no big deal since it's the plain black one that they always have.

Well, just my luck. I checked my receipt and I am now past the 30 day return period. JSFC. I guess I am now stuck with this piece of junk. Is it possible I can get store credit then? I may try to resell both of the store credit and coupon in order to get my money back. So disappointed. I guess I am done with Coach.

Hope you are able to get your bag exchanged. Keep me posted when you do. I hope to receive my bag tomorrow and will take it to the store ASAP. Good luck!
