In the .50ct to 1ct range?

I've looked online and can't find anything! I really can't wait for this store to open up on Tuesday! I'm freaking out I'm so excited! I've been checking out emerald cuts online ALL DAY for the past two days. LOL!

I don't know the measurements of the stone I'm looking at so charts aren't helping :( I do know that it seems ALOT bigger than my .50ct round I wear. Maybe it's just the cut?

Thanks!

Ps. Most of what I've seen online has been stock photos... lame!

For the Emerald cut (or any cut for that matter) the depth of the stone will affect the carat size. What I mean is even if you find a similar size (looking) stone, that won't really tell you an accurate carat weight because some stones are cut very shallow or very deep. KWIM? (I think you do since you stated "maybe it's just the cut.")

You could ask the shop to tell you the dimensions of the stone in millimeters--length width and depth. Then you may be able to find/calculate an estimated carat weight. They may not be able to get an accurate depth measurement for the stone since it is mounted. But the only way to know the exact carat weight is (obviously) to remove it from the mount and weigh it. Hope that helps. I know you are excited :D.

There are some pictures of different emerald cuts floating around. You could try looking in the thread with engagement rings one carat and under in size.
