I am getting a pair of Hearts On Fire Diamond hoop earrings with a double row of diamonds in them.
I really like yellow gold and most of my jewelry is yellow gold, but my DH and everyone else keeps telling me that the earrings look much better in white gold.
I am going to see both YG and WG and decide, but I was wondering if you agree that WG makes diamonds look better.
Thanks!

Its just my preference to go for yellow gold. I have hoop earrings in yellow gold and it makes the diamonds pop. It used to be in white gold but I couldnt appreciate the diamonds at all so I had em reset to yellow instead.

I have both. All of my diamond pieces have white gold or platinum prongs securing the diamonds. I don't know anyone who has yellow gold prongs securing their diamonds?

I wear my yellow gold much more often, as I can wear it casually during the day.

I tend to wear my white gold and platinum pieces at night.

If you prefer yellow gold, go for it! I think you will wear them more, even during the day.

I have a Hearts On Fire diamond in a platinum setting, but I tend to like the "white" metals (white gold, platinum, silver) more than yellow gold.

I know that HOF diamonds are more expensive than other diamonds because of the process of cutting the diamond, so I would suggest getting them set in the color you will wear the most. If not, IMO, it is a waste of money to invest in something you are not going to wear because it does not "go" with what you already have.

Honestly, the HOF diamonds will look stunning in any metal!!! Go for the yellow gold!!:yahoo:

I almost always prefer diamonds in white gold. Occasionally, depending on a setting I'll like the diamonds better in yellow gold (this has occasionally be the case with a few rings), but usually I just think they look much nicer in white gold. :)

i have and love both. the difference is with white gold the metal kind of "melts" with the diamonds resulting in a very harmonious sea of light . with yellow gold the stones stand out more as there is more difference between the metal and the diamonds.
it is a different look but not negative just different and beautiful in its own right and as i said i would not want to miss my yellow gold diamond pieces (as i am a matchy person i would need them anyways lol)
