I notice everything is always sold out online, is it because there will be a price increase or just because of covid and no supplies?

Louis Vuitton's strategy is becoming very similar to that of Chanel. They had the last price increase to make up for lost sales in 2020. The reason we all aren't seeing products in-store or online is because they want their brand to be more exclusive...hence the unavailability you see online and the fact that many boutiques don't have an abundance of stock. This is across the board on all bags(leather), not just canvas items. Sometimes, I do see where CAs will post on IG that a particular style is available for order. I was told that when this happens, you have to move really fast if it is something you want. I was trying to get a particular bag several weeks ago but didn't see the story on IG until the next morning. I was unable to order because I waited late and she was unable to order due to availability. Many of their classics are being offered in seasonal/limited edition versions that are produced that season and afterwards, that is it. Lastly, many customers are pre-ordering bags before they hit stores and online. By the time launch day arrives, things are sold out from all of the pre-orders. All of these reasons could be why it is challenging to score many items. Very much in the direction of Chanel.
 
How do you even do a pre order? Are pre orders for new seasonal items? I spoke to a few SA and they said they just don’t have stock and have to wait. I wonder how they will prep for the holidays since that’s when they probably do well with sales.

I was told you can pre-order for new and seasonal items. I would speak with your CA about the logistics of that. The classics you can't. Just have to wait on availability in store and online. If it becomes available, your CA will contact you and send you an invoice for payment. Once again, you have to move fast since they are unable to hold items for customers.
I too wonder how everything will work for the holidays. Especially at stores with large volumes of customers on a daily basis.

Soooo granted I am super frustrated that nothing seems to be available anymore but I'm not understanding how being more exclusive, to the point of having zero stock, help them make money?
I know it is frustrating not being able to get what you want. You have to stalk the website at all times throughout the day to get what you want. On top of that, calling the 1800 number helped me narrow down which store had what I was looking for. I had to do all of those things on top of working with my CA to find what I was looking for. It also helps following different CAs on IG because they will post when things become available. I have seen many items pop up on the website this evening ranging from the Pochette Metis, Palm Springs Mini, Neverfull MMs in different leather/canvas, alma bb, coussin, Speedy and a few others. I was pretty surprised how many said place in cart. I usually check morning, evening and late at night. But I totally hear your frustration. Too much work you have to put in to purchase something. SMH

Yes that's waaay too much work and honestly takes everything away from what's supposed to be a "luxury experience". I don't think Monsieur Vuitton would be happy to see the lack of product available in honor of his 200th birthday. :frown:
 
I went into the boutique in Maui and told the SA what I was looking for, she had a list of what they were expecting. She told me when they were expecting the bag I was looking for. She called exactly when she said they would have it telling me to come and pick it up. I have found a few difficult to get bags this way. You are right about the stock availability in the stores, more than half the shelves were empty.
