Is the Virevolte Bag Worth the Price?

I got one last year in Rome. It's rouge H and I thought it was cool because it had just come out and would make a great souvenier. And the exchange rate and duty free made it relatively inexpensive. But it is still sitting in its dustbag. I have never worn it. I guess I have too many nicer bags. Probably not worth full taxable price, in my opinion. :nogood:

i saw one in HK and it was also rough H...it was displayed as a clutch. i asked the SA what was this clutch called as i loved it when i modeled it in the mirror. the SA looked up the name on the tag (funny she did not know the name of the bag) and showed me the name as she apparently didn't know how to pronounce it either!!. it said "virevolte". she said you can attach a strap to it. is this the same bag? if it is, it is wonderful as a clutch. very elegant and chic!! why don't you carry it as a clutch sometime. i considered getting it but i don't think my luggage can fit anything much as i already bought a lot of stuff that trip. i still think about the bag though :P

^^Well said. I just love comfortable, easy to wear-over-the-shoulder bags, but I think this style will not be next for me-and I love hearing everyone's input! I have a Gao, Evelyne and GP at this point. I could kick myself for not getting the Massai Cut when it was available!!

i think shoulder bags are options have you thought about expanding to handheld bags :P

I have had my Virevolte in rouge h for almost a year and it's been just the most wonderful purchase. First no-one knows that it's H and for me in my small relaxed office this means no snarky comments or nosiness about it-they just think it's a nice bag. That aside more importantly I travel a lot for work for 1 night & it's the perfect overnight bag-change of clothes, work papers & workout gear all in here-so it starts a bit stuffed but I love that I don't have to force a zip shut. I have raised my eyebrows at flight attendants telling me to push it further under my seat as I'm definitely not putting it in the overhead! I love the slouch design, love the mix of leathers, on my frame it sits perfectly under my arm/over my shoulder. We're all different but honestly I see this being a bag I'll use my whole life. Love it.

Fineprint This sounds like the halzan not the Virevolte

It is not the halzan. I know the halzan.

It must be quite a rare clutch as I have yet seen it online...not Hermes website, not Google, not anywhere. It was so lovely and elegant as a clutch tho... I didn't try putting the strap on to see if it looked good as a shoulder bag. I wish I had taken a picture as it really is lovely.

Also, the SA didn't know the name of the bag so she went to look on the tag and it said virevolte something. so it is a special form of the virevolte bag.

love love love my vivrevolte, lightweight, under the radar and practical!
Since I travel a lot i need something really not recognizable but the same time had the quality and smell of H bags! i appreciate the mixture of leather to keep the shape.
not to mention it's feather weight in H bags!
As far as the clutch version, I'm also a super fans! with all the crafts and pockets inside, I think it's not so bad!
I have both the clutch and shoulder version and now it's my favorite travel combo!

No, it is not this clutch. this I see online in USA website too. That is why I think i saw a really rare clutch. I wish someone in Hong Kong can post a pic! It was so chic!! Absolutely beautiful as a clutch. I'm going to be in hk next month and hope it's still there. I might buy it...esp if the shoulder form also looks good!!

This is a personal question.I think it depends on what you're looking for in a bag and if the V fits that need. If you're looking for a "classic" then no, the V is too new and doesn't hold the same esteem as a B or a K or even a C. But, if you're looking for a casual bag, that you can shoulder carry and fits more than a evelyne, then maybe $5k would be worth it for you. A bag is only worth what you're willing to pay. I would actually probably like it but right now, I haven't seen one in a color that I like.

I've been thinking about this and would love the opinion of all of you esteemed Hermes experts!:

I was recently at an H Boutique and tried on the Virevolte bag in a rich Indigo Blue and in Prune. I love soft shoulder bags-for example my H Gao is still one of my favorites.

But... is the Virevolte style worth the $5450.00 price tag? Do you see this is a timeless style or passing fad? It's certainly not "Hermes" like but the leather is so yummy with the swift and clemence combo.

I'd love your thoughts!

I've had mine for 9 months now and I absolutely love it. I thought I had made a mistake at first and found it fiddly to close, but after using it for a short while it kind of closes itself once you put the heavy tab over, it sorts itself out
It was soft and yummy (like you said) to begin with but now it moulds itself even more when I carry it, I hardly notice I've got it on, yet the Clemence sides help it keep its shape and prevent it from collapsing.I use a soft bag insert inside and it's fine,

I love the fact that it is under the radar, but it has that "je ne sais quoi". A French SM told me that it is her favourite Hbag and as it is "so Hermes", yet at the same time it isn't - if you know what I mean

If you love the Gao you'll fall for this even harder. Like all Hermes bags it gets better with age and wear.
I'm putting mine away for a while as its Ebene and I want to use a lighter colour bag now its Spring, but have used it all autumn/winter and have no regrets now at all.
Both colours you viewed sound gorgeous.

Esmeh:^^so good to hear this! I actually just put it on hold-and will decide tomorrow. I tried it on again the other day and reconfirmed that it is so comfortable on my shoulder, it's the perfect size for my frame and the leather is gorgeous-wondering what size/type of bag insert do you use? *sigh* Still can't get over the price though-Welcome to H territory, right?

I just returned from a four day trip where I took my shoulder Virevolte and my Virevolte clutch. The shoulder version was perfect for day use: so lightweight, and easily carried close to my body. When I was in areas with lots of street traffic I even wore it cross body squished close to my body to prevent any pickpockets. Not the best look, but it worked! And at night, the clutch was just the thing with compartments for my phone, wallet and room card. As pretty99 said, they were the perfect travel combo!
