Really interested in getting one esp due to the price point. Resell seems to get about 75% of the retail price, which I can get in Hawaii, so I think I’ll buy new. But, am I too late to this party? It was super popular years ago. I don’t buy bags just for resell but I like to invest in pieces that will hold value

Given the impractical size, I don’t see this holding value. Marmont is a classic shape but yes incredibly trendy right now. I’m not a huge fan. I wouldn’t buy it because of the price point. If you love it that’s one thing but sounds like you’re on the fence.

I would buy if you love it and will use it, but I wouldn't count on getting a lot for it resale. I don't believe it's limited edition and Gucci is known to get marked down, such as in the outlets, so I don't think you will get top dollar selling it secondhand.

Well I would definitely get it authenticated and buy from somewhere you can get your money back if it did turn out to be fake. I think it would have to be a really good deal to make it worth buying preloved. If you aren't set on this certain style it might not hurt to look at a Gucci outlet or TJ Maxx or somewhere like that and just see what's out there, maybe you can get something new you really like at a good price. Or if you do want this particular bag, buy from a department store when they are running a credit card promotion or some sort of special deal.
