Is the MbyMJ hillier hobo a 'young' looking bag? can older women carry it?

I was thinking of a bag to get my mom for her birthday and got a great deal on a small black hillier hobo w/ gold hardware for her. I asked my sister what she thought, who is not too into bags and she said it looks young looking for someone her age. Perhaps, b/c I own the bigger hillier in saddle myself? My mom's about 5 feet tall even and doesn't like to fuss around when going into her bag and likes shoulder bags, so given my price range i feel like it fit the bill. Now i'm worried the bag is more something a teenager or someone in their 20s would carry and not someone who is in their late 40s/almost 50. Please honestly tell me what you think! As I don't want to give her something that's too 'young' looking. Any opinions would be great! thanks

I think you're totally fine! The black one looks very sophisticated and not "young" at all! to me, the gold hardware with the soft black leather makes it wearable for every woman, no matter what age or type. It can be a cool slouchy bag for casual types, but it can also be a great bag for classy-looking people.

sure, you can! it's neutral toned leather bag in a classic shape. mbmj is getting all sorts of sophisticated in recent seasons. i'm sure it'll look great on you. now, go buy it and post some pictures for us to admire!
