on my last research for a bag I noticed something in the mid range bags, they all had less Chanelesque bags.
which made my itch to get another finally over for good ( already have 4).

is the whole world finally done with that Classic flap?
what I saw now mostly were half moon bags, or Hermes Constance/Celine triomphe dupes. Is that now the new most coveted bag ?

the luxury houses still had their famous quilted bags but seems like the craziness over Chanel flap is kind of over.

Chanel priced itself out of the race a long time ago. People aren't stupid. (And no, I'm not saying people that still buy C flap bags are stupid either)
Other flap bags like YSL College and LouLou have been hotter and more on the radar.
Half moon/round bags have been trending lately and that's why they have been showing up more the more here on the forum.

I think it’s just the trend cycle. There’s a reason it’s called the “classic” flap….Chanel’s version is the OG and epitome of the style, and I’m sure it will come back.

But right now, you’re right…I think the whole “quiet luxury” thing is making styles that are sleeker, not quilted, less hardware (no chain straps) more popular at the moment. And I suspect some consumers are beginning to revolt against all the ridiculous price increases that have been going on - led by (again) Chanel. So minimalist silhouettes have been the biggest sellers the past few years.

Don’t get rid of your quilted flaps tho…I’m already seeing inklings of a change back towards maximalism. Probably by 2025 the contemporary brands will be following suit again. Ebbs and flows of fashion!

yes the prices have become ridiculous, it’s something that I think now only huge Chanel lovers or rich women get. and no ofcourse I didn’t take it that way that you were saying who love the classic flap are stupid.

just like getting one this day seems almost impossible.

people care for their money and don’t want to spend 10 grand on a bag if they are not rich that’s when the alternatives from YSL come to place, the toy Lou Lou is such a beauty
the leather strap makes it more quiet luxury but the logo is still loud luxury so it’s the best of both worlds.

the medium half moons are really nice and practical, I’m digging that trend also the boxy trend from the triomphe. I’ll get a nice dupe of that one day.
im in favor of dupes. don’t like replicas but love a good dupe. So if I have the chance to go back to Paris I’ll get the Demelier.
this time I got a halfmoon bag but i was close to change it for The Demelier Vancouver bag.

I’m planning keep just one of the the 4 I have. My fave one which Is my purificación Garcia.
i said I had 3 but I have 4.

or might keep 2. I don’t know. But won’t rid of all

No, imo the classic flap silhouette isn't over, I don't think it ever will be really. Every design house pretty much has one and every girl I pass seems to have an iteration of it.

Yes, my version of the quilted flap is a toy Loulou and I love it. So glad I got it when it first came out...the price of it has gone up crazy too, but not as crazy as Chanel.
