Hello forum ladies,
I have a question about the Cartier Santos watch.
Do you think this watch looks dated?
I just went into Watches of Switzerland and they had a ladies small steel and gold (18k or 14k I am not sure) for $6100-

Somebody said the Santos was not made anymore.

Personally I love the look of it. the whole point in buying cartier is that it is timeless. albeit a classic.

i remember reading a posting where the person said the santos was dated and looked very 90s.

please help me decide.

I not cartier - what else?
I was think Omega constallation.

hi i dont think the Santos looks dated, I think the all silver santos looks very classic, I own the gold and silver version and wear it from time to time, you should get what you like the best regardless of the make.

The Santos is the first watch Cartier has ever produced so I doubt it's going anywhere. All their gold is 18k.

I like the look of the Santos Demoiselle but the rest of the Santos range seems too masculine in my opinion.

The Omega Constellation is not bad but if I were planning to get one, I would get the brushed stainless steel and not the polished.

its a classic, no way its not being produced anymore. i have the regular stainless steel ladies santos but i'm thinking of selling it cause i don't wear it much anymore. i got my bf the santos 100 (the large santos face w/ leather strap) and i'd love to get the girl version in pink!!!

Sorry ladies.....
This is a scan of the model I am referring to....

I just bought this watch (2 tone Galbee), as I posted in a different thread, to pull together my yellow gold and platinum jewelry. I bought it in the small size, and bought the quartz. I didn't like the design on the face of the automatic, and didn't like the thickness of it. On me, the Galbee in larger sizes and/or with that design on the face looks masculine. But the small quartz looks feminine and very classic. I had originally bought the Demoiselle in all steel with a pink mother-of-pearl face, but exchanged it because I like the Galbee more. The Demoiselle is a beautiful watch though, that could be taken dressier than the Galbee, but the Galbee just fit my day-to-day lifestyle more.

The Santos is gorgeous and totally classic. I love how it looks like an industrial piece yet still refined. I almost wish I had gotten a Santos instead of my Tank Francaise.

It's only dated insofar as Cartier enthusiasts might now when the watches were produced and whether or not they are still being produced. In terms of aesthetics, it is practically the visual definition of a classic, IMO.
