Is Raspberry A Trend Or Classic Colour?

Hey Purseforum!
I've recently fallen in love with this handbag (Classic Box Bag) from Celine:

Gah I don't think the photo is doing the colour justice! Anyway, considering purchasing this bag (I rarely buy designer bags, so this purchase will be a big deal for me). Whilst the classic box bag shape is well, classic, I'm unsure about the colour. As much as I'm smitten about the raspberry shade, I do worry that it may look dated in the next few years.

So, is raspberry a 'trend' colour or can it have classic staying power? I know, ~buy what you like~ and that's true. It's just that I want to be smart with my purchases.

If raspberry is a no-go, I'll consider burgundy, which I believe to be a classic shade.

I don’t think raspberry is a particularly trendy color right now... from the pics, it looks red (Or is it more pink?), in which case it is a classic color. In my view, burgundy is more versatile, but they are both pretty timeless.

My theory is that if you have to ask if a color is a Trend Color - it is not. It seems like when a color is a Trend Color it's impossible to miss it, since it is seen EVEYWHERE on EVERYTHING. And raspberry is a shade of red, which is always classic.

I personally think there is no such a thing as trend colors, maybe neon colors, but red, pinks purples etc are all year round. Just look at Hermes. They keep producing colorful bags and wallets every year and not following Pantone Color of the Year at all and never look dated.

More important than if raspberry is a trendy color is will it go with your clothing? If it coordinates with your normal color palate it's a good choice no matter if trendy or not. I personally don't think raspberry is trendy.

That's a great point. My wardrobe is mostly whites and blacks, with some reds, pinks and greys. So I think raspberry is fine with those shades. (Maybe I shouldn't wear too much red at once though, lol)

Thanks to everyone for voting and / or replying. @JenJBS , you offer an interesting perspective on trends, and I've never thought about it like that. Hmm.

On an off-topic note, I think Celine are absolutely slaying it in the colour department right now. I was actually interested in sky blue and citron lemon, but I ruled them out, not because they were 'trendy' but due to me never wearing those shades.

Raspberry is a classic color. It can be used round the year. However, the color of the image is not actually showing the real color. Also, if we talk about tends, PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue is the color of the year 2020.
