I see lots of discussions around the Neoud ring. Is it considered BTF ring? and is it discontinued because I don't see it on the website.
thank you for your inputs!

I believe yes the noeud is considered a BTF ring since the design goes across multiple fingers. I have a vague recollection of it being labelled that when it was on website many year ago.
It appears to still be available to order though not on website.

Thank you. I remember seeing you have one and it’s so beautiful on you!
So it can be ordered but not regular stock.

Thx! When my husband bought 2 years ago there were a few sizes worldwide that he could have transferred in or he could order (not special order but regular order). I suspect that is still case as I see people posting here and there that they tried at boutique. The price was about 1k usd less than lotus btf ring.

Coincidentally, I just tried the ring last month. The SA showed it to me, even though I didn’t ask. I was surprised, because I thought it was a retired design. But the SA said the noeud is still in production, so it’s not discontinued.

The ring is unusual, because it’s the between-the-finger style, even though it’s a closed setting and only has one focal point. I had always assumed the ring was transformable, but it’s not. The best way to describe the design is that the bow is tilted and attached at an angle, instead of being soldered straight underneath the ribbon. The side of the “knot” is where the bow connects to the band, instead of the bow being attached directly underneath the knot.

If you try to wear the ring with the ribbon in the middle of your finger, the bow tilts to the side weirdly, instead of presenting straight up. Basically, the ring is designed in such a way that the bow can only face up correctly when it’s resting in the crevice between your fingers. I didn’t take a picture of the ring on its own, but the silhouette of the ring is not an omega-shape or a circle. It’s kinda like an egg that’s rotated to a 45° angle. If that makes sense.

I liked it, but I didn’t love it. I liked the two-tone and how the diamonds were set in a very 3D way. But ribbons are quite common in jewelry. I also felt that the ring was prone to rotating, because the weight is skewed very extremely to the side. It’s very substantial, but for a similar price, I prefer the lotus design, which is what I originally wanted to see and which has a bit more novelty with its transformability. I think the noeud ring is gorgeous, though. And would definitely be more interested if I was shopping for another rose gold ring and if I wasn’t already eyeing the lotus ring.

thank you for the detailed description. Very helpful for someone never tried themselves, never seen in person. Basically, the knot is sitting between the fingers, and the bow/ribbon sitting across two fingers (from the photo, looks similar sitting as the big butterfly BTF ring). Actually very interesting in theory, but due to rotating, it may be annoyed or some sort. With the price tag, better be 100% sure you love it, plus it was not on your wishlist. I have learned from many other wise TPForumers, stay with the wishlist, it will help to control impulse buy.
I have tried the lotus, it is absolutely beautiful but I couldn't justify the price at the time. Good luck on your lotus ring shopping

I was wondering if anyone knew whether the Noeud ring has been redesigned through the years.

I’ve recently been offered what I’m told is a “vintage” Noeud. It looks slightly different from the Noeud rings I’ve been seeing recently on the forum (specifically, one of the ribbons running through the knot is rose gold instead of white gold as seen on the most recent photos of the Noeud)

See attachment - 1 is the “vintage” Noeud and 3 is the most recent Noued. The arrow shows the part which is different.

The “vintage” is being sold at a significant discount to what a new Noeud is being sold for BUT it DOES NOT come with a certificate of authenticity so I am concerned with whether I could be dealing with a good fake.

Any input on whether the Noeud has been tweaked over the years would be appreciated! 😅

I also saw this picture of the Noeud ring on Christie’s website (apparently this ring was sold by Christie’s in an auction a while back) - the part of the knot I’m concerned about seems to be rose gold like in the “vintage” Noued - so does seem that there could have been a tweak in design! (Hoping Christie’s didn’t get it wrong…
