Is my Andiamo defective?

I just received my new Andiamo from Bottega online today. The knot on it has black residue. Is this normal? Should I return it?

Def return! Mine doesn’t have that. It’s so frustrating that brands keep trying to sell the faulty products. It took me three bottega hops to get one that wasn’t defective

I really should return, I just hate the extra work & process with online orders :|. I don’t live near a Bottega store but, I’m thinking about just doing a weekend getaway and flying to one, make a trip out of it.

It’s unlikely they’ll even have it in the size and color you want in stock. The Andiamo goes out of stock in store fast. And the boutique is separate from the online store - a store could ship it back for you, but you would have to buy (if they happen to have it in stock) or have the store order you one from another stock. It will be way more of a hassle doing it that way, would def just exchange online

you could try wiping it off with a oil based remover, my loewe bag had the same but i didnt realise until it stained the leather as it was gunmetal hardware.
