Is Lindy 26 Etoupe/gold worth to keep?

I was hoping to get a birkin in etoupe and 26 with gold hardware; however, the kind seller I met in Paris handed me a Lindy with all other details I wanted. I bought it anyway because of the possibility of resell.

I have heard that it’s not easy to find Lindy with gold hardware these days — is it true?

Because it’s not like I have a plenty of cash lying around, if it’s not birkin I would rather resell this in the states since even after the consignment fee it might get me a couple grands.

It’s not exactly what I wanted and since it is not like losing money I am willing to sell (=I’m not sad to let this go), but if it’s something that’s hard to get in the future I might just keep it as well.

Could you help me decide?

Thanks!

This is a very sought after and difficult-to-find combo in Asia where L26 is a quota bag. Especially Etoupe which is the #1 color preference for a lot of Asians. But I don't think the demand is the same in the US. You will be lucky to break-even after commission has been taken.

To each their own but i personally would not consider keeping an item just because it's supposed to be rare but doesn't make your heart sing. Blue Jeans was a super sought after color for a long time too but the resell value on those is not the same as it used to be.

I wouldn’t keep for resale. Even bags that are rare are hard to sell for a profit when you consider the commission that consignment stores take and/or the risk of selling it on eBay. In the us, lindys are not hard to come by, especially in a boutique like the ones in NYC where they are consistently on display. If you got it for a good price you may make some money but I don’t think it will be as high as you might expect.

Hello dear, are you a reseller? Is it new or used? Have you had it authenticated by a professional? Lindy is widely available in US and can buy from boutique shelves nowadays without (or short) waiting. None of us can give you satisfied answers if you do decide to resell... my suggestion is to check ebay for other active listing pricing and also contact consignment shops directly for quote(s) so that you can get accurate “current market” resale value on your Lindy and find out if it’s worth the troubles of reselling the bag. Good luck.

To my mind, the best solution would be to sell it now, without hurrying if you're not in need of money.
Otherwise, you might think a lot of this bag and the "bad operation" you did by buying something you didn't want.
So, move on and good luck

I wasn’t aware Lindy is a quota bag in Asia? I’ve seen it regularly stocked on shelves in Seoul and Singapore and (most recently) in Hong Kong (although it’s not as easy to locate in the latter).
